3d: Using Assessment for Learning

Using assessment for learning, as outlined in Danielson Domain 3d, is important in my classroom because it helps guide instruction and support student growth in real time. By using formative assessments—such as check-ins, exit slips, observations, and rubrics—I can gauge student understanding and adjust my teaching to meet their needs. It also gives students timely feedback that helps them reflect on their progress and take ownership of their learning. This ongoing cycle of assessment and feedback ensures that learning remains focused, personalized, and effective, allowing every student the opportunity to succeed. Below is an example of a student centered assessment that I have used to help students with performing.
